Hi, just joined your excellent site and wondering if anything is being organised to mark the centenary of the Battle of Loos?  My grandfather, David Henderson Yates was wounded at Loos on 25 September 1915.  Most of his pals were killed that day or later during the war.

I have done quite a bit of research into his times in the KOSB and have loads of old photographs, KOSB and medical records and other memorabilia.

I visited the battlefield in 1978, and plan to do so again in 2015 with as many of his ancestors as I can force onto the ferry.  Would anyone be interested in exchanging notes and meeting up for a few bottles of wine in France?

Best wishes,

David Yates (Author of Bomb Alley - about my times in the Falklands War)
