Gentlemen,

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the death of Lieutenant Colonel Donald Lear who sadly passed away on Sunday 8th January 2017 at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey aged 94.

Donald Lear originally served with 16th Punjabi Regiment, Indian Army prior to transferring to the King’s Own Scottish Borderers after the independence of India in 1947. During his military career Donald saw active service in El Alamein,  Monte Cassino, Palestine and Korea.

On behalf of its members the King’s Own Scottish Borderers Association has extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to Donald’s wife Penny, Son Andrew and wider family members at this very difficult time.  

Funeral details will be notified at the earliest opportunity when available.
