It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of Private George Ramsay McCracken KOSB who sadly died on Friday 27th October 2017 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire aged 96.

George joined the Regiment at Dumfries on 27 April 1939, served throughout the Second World War including the Burma campaign of 1942 – 1945 with the Second Battalion. George was not demobilized until 6th August 1946.

On behalf of its members, the King’s Own Scottish Borderers Association has extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to George’s daughters, Lynne and Sylvia and wider family members at this very difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have been notified as follows:

Date: Thursday 9th November 2017

Time: 10.10 am

Location: Chesterfield Crematorium, Chesterfield Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire S43 1AU

Refreshments will be served after the service at: The Moonrakers Pub, Keswick Drive, Newbold, Chesterfield, Derbyshire S41 8HQ
