Borderers,

Yesterday, one hundred years ago one of the most remarkable military funerals of the First World War was held at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery for Company Serjeant Major, John ‘Jock’ Skinner VC  DCM KOSB – when six holders of the Victoria Cross acted as his pallbearers. One of his pallbearers was Colour Sergeant William Grimbaldeston VC KOSB.
